📉Red Day Sermon: Charles Went Off, and He’s Not Wrong

It started like any other CT meltdown morning: doomscrolling through red candles and existential dread.

But this time, it wasn’t a memer, wasn’t a shitposter, wasn’t even Frogfather. It was Charles Hoskinson, live from Colorado, sounding like he just swallowed the entire CoinMarketCap and coughed up a TED Talk.

And then he dropped it.

“Where are we getting the butt plug today?”

Japan. Bonds. Inflation. Institutions that won't save you. And how in 2021, we traded our souls for banana JPEGs and tweet NFTs.

Yep. He said it all.

“We lost retail in 2021.”“We screwed retail as an industry.”“And then we mocked them with meme coins.”

So now what? Bring retail back, but not for 10x shitcoins. For first principles. For real self-custody. Real identity. A bank in your pocket. Privacy as a basic right.

Because here's the truth:

“This started as a retail movement… and it only succeeds if it stays one.”

Somewhere between liquidations and Luna, we forgot why we came. And Charles, the man half of CT loves to roast, just reminded us of what meme culture has been yelling for a year.

In classic Charles fashion.

“Those are the people that gave you Lyme disease. Those are the people that made Covid.”

Ok bro. Bit too much Alex Jones before coffee, but point taken.

And you know what? It wasn’t all doom.

This rant was a wake-up call, to build what crypto can be:

  • no VC bloodsuckers

  • no 10k duck JPEGs

  • no begging BlackRock to “save us”

Because if not us- who?

In 7 days, Midnight launches. No VC. No ICO.Just like Satoshi.

“Return to first principles — or perish.”
“There are more private equity firms in the U.S. than McDonald's.19,000 vs 14,000.They’re not flipping burgers. They’re flipping your future.”
“We’ve earned the right to sit at the table.”But that only matters if we remember why we showed up in the first place.
“Red days are needed to make green days.”“Let’s get back to the work we were doing in 2020.”

In a week when everything dumped, we might’ve just heard the most important speech of the year. And it didn’t come from the Fed. Or MIT.

It came from a guy in a hat, in Colorado, who knows what it means to lose retail. And maybe, just maybe… how to bring it back.

But only if we stop scrolling… and start building.
